Grand Beach Sunset Engagement Session
A summer evening Love Story engagement session at Grand Beach, Manitoba. Sunset, laughter, lanterns at twilight, and two people who were pretty clearly meant for each other.
Jessica and Matthew were set up by the grade 11 volleyball team they coached together. The girls were convinced they were a perfect match. Turns out they were right.
By the time we met out at Grand Beach for their Love Story engagement session, they'd been together about eight months, but they moved through the evening like people who'd been doing this for years. Easy with each other. Comfortable. The kind of couple where you don't have to manufacture the connection, you just have to give them somewhere to be and get out of the way.
We started with some time on the beach as the sun was still high, running along the water, laughing, not taking any of it too seriously. Their energy was easy and natural from the start, the kind of couple where the connection is already there and the camera just gets to witness it.
As the sun dropped toward the water, the light at Grand Beach did what it almost always does out there, it turned everything warm and golden and a little cinematic. There are no trees or buildings out here to interrupt the horizon, so you get the full sky, and on a clear evening that's hard to beat anywhere in Manitoba.
We finished at twilight with lanterns glowing in the sand. The energy had shifted by then, quieter and closer, which felt right for where the evening had gone.
I'm already looking forward to their wedding day.
